The Second Annual Edward J. Shoen Leading Scholars Lecture will feature Theda Skocpol, the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology and Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. "Obama and the Struggle to Transform U.S. Public Policy: the Case of Health Care Reform Redux."
This lecture is named in honor of Edward J. "Joe" Shoen, Chairman and CEO of AMERCO, the parent company of the U-Haul® system. Shoen, who graduated from the College of Law in 1981, also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. The lecture allows the College of Law to bring to campus some of the leading minds in the legal academy to present major new works and set those scholars in dialogue with others.
